Design that works by understanding why it doesn't.

I'm Matt. I apply design to solve problems. I work on digital products, brands, and experiences to stir emotions, connect with humans, and get results. The core of comercial design has always been to provide value through repeatable results. I've been doing this for companies whose user experience and brand needs to shine. I bring fresh eyes and capable hands. We can start fresh or upgrade an your current tooling to modern standards.

Two decades of making creative & strategic solutions.

Designer, strategist, and Principal. For over twenty years I've been designing visual and experiental solutions across pixel, page, and beyond. I've worked with Fortune 500s, and have been onboard when the company sinks. With a focus on UX, UI, and the visual systems that hold it all together.

Before foundin g Paradigm Solutions, I worked with agency and in-house teams. Some with limitless budgets for massive events while others operated on a more constrained approach where excellent strategy was our core comodity. I've been the production design, the art & creative direction, the UX/UI architect, and creative lead on a lot of projects for brands you may have heard of — Disney, IBM, Procter & Gamble, Raytheon, MetLife, Monster, Durcell, MAPFRE, and others. I'm based in beautiful rural Vermont beyond the light and noise polution of a no-stoplight town — Life is good.

Before I redesign anything, I dig into 'why' as I identify the underlying assumptions that led the existing solution make sense to whoever built it. That's usually where the real problem is hiding.

Twenty years of knowing what good looks like turns out to be the ideal foundation for working with AI. Tools like Claude Code and Figma MCP don't replace design judgment — they amplify it. Designers who've spent careers adjacent to the front-end world, absorbing the vocabulary and constraints of code without always writing it, are uniquely positioned to prompt with a level of precision that's hard to replicate. For a guy that started on a stack camera, I'm well aware that we live in wild times.

Every section, component, and interaction on this site was designed and shipped through direct AI collaboration — no framework, no template, no traditional handoff. The result is a site that looks and behaves exactly as designed, built faster than any conventional process would allow. That kind of velocity, in the hands of someone who knows what they're building toward, changes what's possible.

Built with Claude Code This site — every layout, style, and interaction — was designed and shipped through AI-assisted development using Claude Code and Figma MCP. No templates. No hand-coded framework. Pure vibe, precise intent.
The Multiplier
Prompting With 20 Years of Context
The secret to effective prompting isn't learning to code — it's knowing precisely what you want. Two decades of design craft, systems thinking, and front-end adjacency makes every prompt sharper, every output more intentional, every iteration faster.
AI Development
Claude Code
Anthropic's CLI brings a capable AI pair programmer directly into the terminal. For designers who think in components and outcomes, it's the most natural way to build that's ever existed — you describe what you want with precision and it executes.
Design-to-Code
Figma MCP
The Model Context Protocol bridge between Figma and AI development tools closes the gap between design intent and shipped product — turning visual designs into structured context an AI can actually use rather than approximate.

Virtual Event Platform Redesign

Dated UI/UX was making the platform difficult to learn and use as the product shifted from internal white-glove service to self-service customers. Rebuilt the information architecture, introduced a Material-based design system, and overhauled the full UI.

hēRo3 Health Economics App

Health economists were building pharmaceutical cost-effectiveness models in Excel and R — a process taking weeks and prone to error. Designed a web application that made complex modeling accessible and collaborative, from IA through production UI.

Interactive Customer Journey Tool

Dozens of disconnected tools across a large insurance organization made it impossible for employees to understand how processes connected. Designed a three-tier visualization system spanning executive dashboards down to ground-level service blueprints.
